NEW YORK, NY, August 29, 2011 /Entertainment PR News/ -- GRAMMY Award -winning Singer/Songwriter Michael Bolton and legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason will host "The Second Annual Michael Bolton and Dave Mason Celebrity Golf Classic" to benefit The Michael Bolton Charities (for children and women at risk) on Saturday, September 10 at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa in Ojai, CA.
The day consists of a golf tournament beginning at 9:00 am for registration and 10:00 am tee off, followed by an awards reception from: 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm. That evening, the silent auction reception will begin at 6:00 pm. Emceed by television personality John O'Hurley, doors to the ballroom will open at 7:00 pm to begin dinner, award presentation, live auction and performances by Dave Mason and his band, Michael Bolton and his band, with a special appearance by guitar sensation Orianthi (Michael Jackson's 'This is It'), singer/songwriter Delta Goodrem.
The Michael Bolton Charities Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Del R. Bryant, President and CEO of BMI, Inc. A portion of the proceeds from this event will also benefit:

Michael Bolton has sold more than 53 million records, released 20 studio albums, won multiple GRAMMY Awards for Best Male Vocalist and countless other honors, all while selling out arenas worldwide. In 2002, the singer-songwriter earned a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. He has performed with legends like Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, written songs with greats from Bob Dylan to Lady Gaga, penned hits for a diverse range of artists, including Barbra Streisand and KISS, played guitar with B.B. King and had his music recorded on a track by hip-hop superstar Kanye West (featuring Jay-Z).
Bolton recently released his 21st studio album titled Gems - The Duets Collection. The new album, distributed by Sony Music/Legacy Recordings, features productions by acclaimed songwriters, producers and musicians including David Foster, Dann Huff, Rudy Perez, and A.R. Rahman. The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. was founded in 1993 and is based in Bolton's home state of Connecticut. The major focus of The MBC is the critical issue of violence against women. Since its inception, The MBC has dispersed close to $6 million in grants to various organizations that support children and women at risk of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness and domestic violence.
Founded in 1993, the mission of The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. is dedicated to two critical areas: (1) The assistance of children and women "at risk;" and, (2) Through education and effective programs, create social awareness to broaden horizons and expand opportunities for youth across socioeconomic and multicultural lines. The major focus of The Michael Bolton Charities is in the area of violence against women. Five years ago, Michael joined forces with coalitions of women's groups and members of Congress to pass the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Michael, personally, has continued to devote his time to draw attention to the domestic violence epidemic and to enlist other men to raise their voices for zero tolerance on the issue. He has directed his foundation to do whatever possible to secure continued and additional funding to keep shelters open, educational programs functioning, and children and women safe.
Santa Barbara Foodbank, which provides nourishment to those in need by acquiring and distributing safe nutritious foods via local agencies and providing education to solve hunger and nutrition problems in Santa Barbara County. During 2010, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County distributed 9.2 million pounds of food from two warehouse locations in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
Yoga Blue, Inc., a non-profit organization established in 2009 in Ojai by Winifred Wilson, whose mission is dedicated to teaching yoga to people in recovery from substance abuse, other self-destructive behaviors and domestic violence.
Work Vessels for Vets (WVFV) - Founded in 2008, WVFV assists veterans returning to the United States as they begin their civilian careers or continue educational pursuits by donating to them the necessary start-up tools. To date WVFV has helped over 300 veterans in their transition.
