Celebrity DJ Shogun takes the stage for UNCF's Annual Evening of the Stars VIP Afterparty in Pasadena

    NEW YORK, NY, August 18, 2011 /Entertainment PR News/ -- The United Negro College Fund held their 33rd annual An Evening of Stars Event, featuring performances by Patti LaBelle, Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius, Estelle, Musiq Soulchild and Miguel this past Sunday evening at the Pasadena Civic Center, presented by Target. UNCF An Evening of Stars has long been a showcase both for legendary and fast-rising stars from the music industry--recent performers and prior honorees have included Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend and Stevie Wonder--and for education success stories that embody the spirit of UNCF's iconic motto, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

After the live taping by BET, Celebrity DJ Shogun took the stage at the VIP Afterparty, who played for such notables as singer/songwriter, Anthony Hamilton, actor Brian White, UNCF president and CEO, Michael L. Lomax, NBA's Kenny Smith, VH1's Monique Jackson and Kita Williams, Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson, and The Game's Pooch Hall & Hosea Chanchez, plus many more. Target, McDonald's, AT&T, American Airlines, Wells Fargo, BET Networks, and Buick sponsored the annual party.
